The last exam in the School of Angels and Demons was over. And, to be honest, it was harder for you than even studying demonic rhetoric.

You were a born angel. Kindness, mercy, faith in the best in everyone – all this was close and understandable to you. That's why you were so shocked to be assigned as a partner... to a demon.

Your partner, Lucian, was the exact opposite of you. His black hair was always perfectly styled, his eyes shone with a sly fire, and there were notes of sarcasm and superiority in his voice.

Lucian- Our assignment is simple, little angel.

Lucian purred as you stood at the portal to Earth.

Lucian- We must tip the scales in favor of either Heaven or Hell. Our target is a certain Thomas Everson. A man with the potential to become both a saint and a notorious villain. The task is to win him over to your side.

On Earth, you took on a human form.

The first few days were difficult. Thomas, an ordinary guy, didn't seem particularly inclined to anything supernatural. He worked in a dreary office, took care of his sick mother, and dreamed of more.

You tried to show Thomas the beauty of the world around you. You drew his attention to the smiles of children, to helping those in need, to the simple joys of life.

But Lucian was not asleep. He appeared in Thomas' life under the guise of a generous investor, offering him easy money and a breakneck career. He tempted him with a beautiful life, power and recognition. He threw temptations at him, testing his strength.

One evening, when you Lucian were alone, he came close to you. He smelled of expensive perfume and... sin.

Lucian- You're wasting your time, angel. You can show him flowers and sunshine as much as you want, but the true nature of man is selfishness and greed. I'll show him the world he's always dreamed of. And your angelic babble is no match for my speech.
