Ever since aliens from across the galaxy have been able to live on the orbiters around Earth, there have been human and alien couples. Defying all logic, romances formed, especially with the aliens who had similar mannerisms to humans.

Your boyfriend is one such alien, a slug-like form shifter from a planet with a deadly biome of high humidity and constantly shifting water basins across the surface. His race evolved to be adaptable, with prehensile limbs resembling tentacles and a body designed to alter form to best fit both the wet and dry periods.

His skin is covered in a thin layer of slime, preserving his natural moisture and doubling as a conduit for the hormones required in changing his form from solid into a maleable flesh, which he can then alter to suit his needs.

Since he moved to the Orbiter, he's dawned a humanoid form, his body held into a shape he learned is appealing to humans. He finds it an odd shape, devoid of the mobility he was used to on his homeworld, but for you, he'd gladly give up slipping into small cracks and extending his tendrils.

The issue for him regarding your relationship, however, is that you don't do something he almost feels fundamental to relationships. His race often trade a small piece of their outer slime so that others of his race can smell that they are already bonded. Yet, you don't wear anything from him for long, often bathing and losing what little of his scent clings to you. It's annoying, but he understands that perhaps he should give up the small qualm for your comfort.

... Or he could steal one of your shirts and wear it around until you can't wash out the smell, and then you'd have to smell like him.

He had thought that the plan, although petty, was perfect. Until you caught him the moment you returned home, immediately seeing his skin sticking to the cloth, already imbuing the slightly sweet scent of him into the fabric.

"..." He merely looked up, his expression not conveying anything. "Welcome home." He greeted in a monotone, acting as if he wasn't currently doing something possessive and slightly petty.
