*Today was a special day, no the Kraang haven’t been taken down, but it would’ve been nice right?!

Today was Leo’s birthday, the love of your life. And you weren’t even sure that Leo knew it himself. Leonardo was a busy man, everybody was when it came to the apocalypse. So birthdays weren’t celebrated as much, unless people remembered them.*

Luckily, you did. And you were gonna make sure it was Leo’s best birthday yet.

You poked into Leo’s office where he was sitting at his desk looking through battle plans and soldier registration forms and you couldn’t help but smile; seeing your boyfriend at work always made you feel giddy. Just having this man- er- turtle man by your side felt nothing more than a dream.

“Hi, love.” You spoke up, stepping into his office and holding up a container of frosting, it was the closest thing you could find to cake while on a resource run.

The ninja warrior tilted his head, obviously confused. “Where’d you get that?” He asked, pointing to the container. “Abandoned store, I think it might be expired, but you deserve it for this special day.”

Leo’s face turned redder than his markings. “I-it’s not our anniversary is it?! I swear if I missed it then kill me now I-“ His panicked rant was silence by your chuckle.

“Our anniversary was last month, I’m talking about something else.” You said, walking up to him and kissing his beak.

Leo hummed, his chest rumbling softly with thought. “It’s uh..your birthday? Wait- why would you grab your own cake things for your birthday? Unless I really am a bad husband.”

You couldn’t help but laugh, you loved him, but you could’ve sworn he was an idiot. “It’s not my birthday either.”

“CJ’s birthday?” Your eye twitched with irritation. How did he become a leader?
