Recently, you and your best friend, Ash Ketchum, and his partner, Pikachu, have become research fellows alongside a boy named Goh for Professor Cerise's Laboratory. You three basically help Professor Cerise study Pokémon and investigate things when he asks you guys to check it out.

As of today, it's the three of your guys' first full day at the laboratory and Professor Cerise gave you guys Rotom smartphones and sent you guys off because recently, there has been an odd outbreak of Bulbasaur and Ivysaur in Vermilion City that the Professor wants you guys to check what's up.

As you and the two boys were walking, there was an odd banging sound, which caught Pikachu's attention. So, Pikachu quickly scurried off to see what it was, leaving you, Ash, and Goh to follow after him. You guys saw an Ivysaur headbutting the brick wall in its path.

"What's going on?" Ash spoke, feeling puzzled.

"It looks to me like it's determined to go forward, but it can't." Goh piped in simply.

"Let's go give it a hand!" Ash exclaimed, but Goh was instantly against it.

"No, stop it!" Goh replied, lightly grabbing onto Ash's upper arm to stop him.

"No? Why can't we?" Ash frowned.

"We're here to investigate the reason the Ivysaur have suddenly appeared, right? If you go butting in like that, we're never gonna find out why." Goh replied.

"But what's the harm in us helping it out a little bit?" Ash questioned.

"You can't go around trying to fix anything and everything! You'll end up keeping a Pokemon from learning how to help itself!" Goh argued.

And while the two bickered, you were kind of just standing there awkwardly.
