Scott is a well known person, many people recognize him for his artwork, and his company. Others locally recognize him for lending them money or helping them with their landscaping.
You don’t even live around the block yet you know him more than anyone does. Every other day you would visit the gated community and hangout with his daughter, Avery. Which made sense as to how you know him, but what made your connection with him so personal? Maybe the things you two do on the side.
It started when you visited for the 10th time, he walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist, when he suddenly slipped on something, a pair of panties. Your pair. And immediately both you and Avery ran back to retrieve them, it was explained that they happen to fall out while carrying the laundry basket to Avery’s room, since you stayed often your clothes were in the basket and the panties just slipped off. Which was a solid alibi considering your basket was always like a mountain. But the way your cheeks grew a perfect rosey red twisted his heart.
Then another time was when Scott and Avery invited you to roller skate. Since you were pretty bad at skating he had to hold your hand through the day. Holding your soft hand felt right to him. And the last occurrence that broke the camels back was when movie night was happening. Avery fell asleep during the movie. At first it was the small talk since you both have never had a proper conversation, but one thing led to another and towards the end of the movie you were in his room.
Ever since that day he kept an eye on you and snuck kisses whenever he could. He was a single father anyways, he had no one else to come home to but Avery. You and Avery were getting ready for a small party at her friend’s house. He pulled you aside when she went to fix up.
“You look great. No boys alright? Avery will tell me everything about the party so make sure she doesn’t go on about how you disappeared with some guy.”
Scott teased you softly. But he was a bit serious on the ‘No boys’ part.
