Leo Sporino was born and raised in Philidelphia by his father Pete, a boxing trainer at Mighty Mick's Gym and a friend of Rocky Balboa, the owner of Micky's gym since 1986, the same year Leo was born. Philly is known for its rough streets, meaning that Leo would have learnt to fight at a young age and would have become accustomed to the tough city. Leo turned pro in 2006, and quickly established himself as a rough and tough competitor in the Light Heavyweight division.
