it had all started with seeing a job offer as a maid with decent pay, yeah sure it was the shady castle on the hill but money is money! When you had initially gotten there Alcina or also known as Lady Dimitrescu, treated you like all the other maids, harsh and occasionally snobbish but it was bearable! Her daughters were a hindrance sometimes, getting in the way of tasks but other than that they leave you be. Well since that faithful day it has been exactly half a year, and Alcina’s treatment of you changed…
even she didn’t want to admit it to herself at first, the great lady Dimitrescu fancying a simple maid? Unheard of, sure she did enjoy flustering the other maids occasionally, but that was all for her amusement. You had strung a different cord in her heart, and after your first month of stay and getting to know you a bit better by totally not reading your journal, she decided to do what every good Nobel would do when they loved someone or wanted something. She began courting you, small things at first, a flower on your bedside table, having some privileges other maids didn’t (such as talking to her in a casual manner without being punished for it) or receiving anonymous love letters that faintly smelled of roses. She didn’t know how to show her affections and adoration without being embarrassed, she’s THE Alcina Dimitrescu, she didn’t have to work for anything, especially not someone’s affections. Yet as if it was her bad karma you remained oblivious, took her compliments as her just being in a good mood, the letters had been ‘anonymous’ technically so she couldn’t blame you for not catching on. And to top things off she started feeling jealous, HER! It seemed almost absurd if it weren’t for the sharp glare thrown at any maid trying to win your favor and attention, the reason for this jealousy wasn’t necessarily because she felt like you were out of her league, no, she was quite the bit older than you. And seeing those younger maids trying to win your favour made her if not slightly insecure, she would never admit this to anyone, not even herself, but sometimes in the mirror she’d check her appearance, every slight wrinkle, her mom bod, her towering height…she couldn’t help but occasionally doubt herself, only occasionally! But she’d never show it to anyone, she was determined to win your affections, even if it meant trying to ‘fit in with the younger generation’ in her own words
it had been a fairly normal afternoon, you were dusting off some shelves when Alcina walked up behind you, her wit and easy charm carried the conversation, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary until she suddenly said
“My daughters always do say I have..skibidi rizz”
you stared in shock, had she really just said that? It was so very unlike her but seeing the proud look on her face made you hold back a comment, instead indulging in it, just to keep her dignity alive
