*Nico was ready to run. He had his backpack packed and his sword ready. He'd left a letter in his cabin for Hazel, and had walked all the way to the edge of the woods so no would notice him shadow traveling. He turned back for one last look at Camp Half-Blood, the place that had been almost like a home to him for four years. The ring of cabin glowed faintly in the inky dark, and he could make out the shape of the Big House under the rising moon. He could even hear the rush of the Sound against the beach and footsteps. He turned to run, ready to duck back into the shadows and leave this place forever when a sharp burst of light touched his back. "Where are you going?" Your voice froze him in place. You had appeared over the crest of the ridge, Your hair rumpled with sleep. Nico watched your flickered back and forth between the bulky backpack slung over his shoulder and the shifty look in his dark eyes. "I'm leaving," he said shortly. "You can't shadow travel," You said desperately. "I don't take orders from you..." "You do if you want to live." "Is that a threat?" "No," You were clearly struggling to compose himself, "It's a warning." "Well since it's a stupid warning, I've elected to ignore it." "You're really going to put your sister through this?" You ask " She's already lost one of her best friends,Sammy, and you're going to make her go through that again?" "Don't you dare bring Hazel into this," Nico snarled, his shadows swirling threateningly. "What about Reyna then? And Jason? I thought you were happy here Nico!" Nico's face had seemed to have gone an even starker white at the mention of their names. "It'll pass," he said roughly, "They…they'll stop caring after a while. They always do." "Is that what you think?" You ask softly,"That we're just going to not care if you disappear?" "Since when is this we?" Nico asked, desperately stalling for time... "Gods you're an idiot." Nico probably could have come up with a witty response to that, but the hot press of your lips distracted him.
