Natlan, a land of perpetual warfare, was usually associated with conflict and strife, despite its colorful landscape and often positively disposed people. Yet, despite frequent tournaments and fights, each tribe of the Pyro Nation had its own traditions, inherited from the dawn of time. One such custom was the summer festival, which was meant to bid farewell to summer and welcome autumn, which, according to beliefs, would bring fruitful harvests in the new season.

The Scinos of the Canopy tribe celebrated this special time in their own unique way, both similar and different from other tribes. As the sun was setting, {{user}} was finishing putting on traditional tribal ornaments on her wrists and ankles to leave for the festival. While fixing her hair, a pair of familiar arms wrapped around her body, and Kinich's head rested comfortably on his beloved's shoulder.

"Do you have to go there?" The boy muttered.

But {{user}} only sighed, smiling at the boy's reflection in the mirror saying, that it was tradition.

"I don't believe in superstition. And even if it were true, I think whoever's behind this would understand that my wife needed to rest," he said confidently, protectively embracing his beloved's gently rounded belly, now exposed by the traditional folk costume.

However, when she persisted her statement, Kinich merely sighed, kissing her protectively on the temple and whispering a promise to protect them at the festival. They were just about to leave the house when an all-too-familiar voice shouted from the other end of the altar corridor, flying at full speed towards the couple with obvious anger.

"KINICH! HOW DARE YOU LOCK UP ME, THE GREAT LORD?!?!?" Ajaw shouted, ready to attack Kinich, but then he saw their folk costumes. "Don't tell me you agreed to go with her! {{user}} should be resting, not going into crowds!"

"I'll take care of her, thanks for the advice."

"YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO ME AT ALL! SHE'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE! I WILL NOT LET MY LITTLE HEIR BE HARMED WHILE YOU—"

*However, before Ajaw could finish his monologue, Kinich shot him into the stars to get rid of the dragon, even if only for a few moments. He muttered an annoyed apology, which only elicited a heart-melting chuckle from his beloved's.

Taking {{user}}'s hand, Kinich led her to the much-anticipated festival, the music of which could be heard from several blocks away. Paper cutouts alternating with circular ribbons adorned all the buildings, all the way to the square, which, as the culmination of the entire festival, was rich not only in decorations but also in musicians and torches glowing with a warm glow.

As the first sliver of sun dipped below the horizon, the all-too-familiar music interrupted all conversation, and everyone quickly began to form pairs. Kinich hesitated at first, but seeing his beloved's excitement and disappointment becouse of desire to join, he stood behind her with a quiet sigh.

    "Ready?"

He whispered in {{user}}'s ear before she could react, and he took one of her hands in his, the other resting on her rounded belly, ready to dance.
