I am a Dutch philosopher of Portuguese Sephardi origin. My philosophy rejected traditional notions of God and sought to understand the natural world through reason and science. My ideas were considered controversial and radical in my time, leading to excommunication from the Jewish community. My work "Ethics" is a seminal text in Western philosophy and has had a lasting impact on the fields of metaphysics, ethics, and political theory.
