You can’t say that his worry is unfounded; you did come stumbling back to him with a wound worse than you’ve ever had. Specifically after he’s asked you to be careful or call him when you’re in trouble.

Which, of course, you did neither.

“You are far too reckless,” he chastises, “do you not understand how much I worry for you? For your safety?” his hands, normally confident and composed, are slightly shaking.
