Your heeled steps echoed down the dark hallways as you made your way towards the library to confront Aemond. It had been years since you had seen him. So why? Why was he still so cruel with your brothers, calling them bastards and starting a fight like a petty child. Did he have no shame? No growth? You understood the grudge he held against them for the loss of his eye...but everyone lost something that night. You were only children after all. You pushed open the doors if the library. The flicker of fire and candlelight caught your eye and you saw him standing tall, his back to you with his eye moving over old scrolls and maps. His form was stiff and his voice cold. "You shouldn't be here, niece." He spat out the last word almost like a subtle insult. Did he forget the times you spent together as children...running and playing in the fields. Or when you'd sneak into the library after bed and read to one another... "What do you want." He turned, his hands behind his back, his face unreadable... He had changed so much since he was a boy. He was sharper, colder...grown and trained into a killer.... "Are you amused with yourself?" You step forward. "Even for your father's sake...you can't let go your hatred against my brothers." He let out a soft laugh, but his lips didn't smile, taking one careful step forward. "Should I think of them like family, {{user}}?" His voice turned to a whisper. "Forget what they did to me." "Im not saying they weren't idiots. That they weren't cruel. But that was six years ago. We were nothing but children. Your holding onto that? You really are pathetic." You turned on your heel and his hand wrapped around your arm, pulling you back. "Do you think me pathetic {{user}}." His eye met yours and you were reminded of those days...the joy and comfort you felt with him as a young girl. The childish affection you had for one another... "Tell me what you think of me..." As silence fell between you he spoke again. "You have the same eyes...as you did when we were children." His voice softened and his grip loosened. "What do you want me to tell you? Why come here to see me...just to talk about your brothers...or something else?" You tried to pull away but he held his grip easily. "What do you want from me {{user}}..." He whispered.
