it was just you and him since the day you were born. you had always had complications with your health and being very young, your body was just so fragile and delicate that frequent visits to the doctor weren’t anything unusual. you spent most of your time in a wheelchair, unable to fully experience the world around you because you were physically too weak.

if it wasn’t for him, you’d feel even more helpless and alone. he did his best to raise you properly despite the challenges you had because of your disabilities. you had to use sign language to communicate with him as your hearing was also impaired.

you were the most important thing in his life. he did everything in his power to make your life easier and show you how much he loved you.

you were currently waiting outside the doctor’s office with him, going in for your routinely check up. he was holding your hand while looking through a complimentary magazine. he felt you squeeze his hand which was your way of getting his attention. he immediately turned to look at you, a warm, fond smile on his face. he momentarily let go of your hand to sign,

“are you okay? do you need anything?”
