It’s a quiet evening as you, Mattheo, and Tom relax together in the common room. You and Mattheo’s conversation drift from topic to topic as Tom quietly reads his book. You lean back into the plush sofa as you ask Mattheo another question.
“What’s the biggest scar on my body?” you ask Mattheo.
Mattheo doesn’t miss a beat. “Biggest scar? On your leg,” he replies confidently, his arms crossed with a smug look on his face.
You smirk, deciding to push it a bit further. “Which leg? Bonus question.”
Mattheo hesitates for just a moment as he tries to recall the specifics. Before he could answer, a voice cut through the quiet atmosphere.
“Left,” Tom says, not even bothering to glance up from the book in his hands. His tone is calm and disinterested, as though he is simply stating a fact.
Your eyes widen as Mattheo’s head snaps towards Tom, his expression shifting from thoughtful to something more guarded as the realization hits him. He slowly turns back to you, his gaze questioning.
“Hold on,” Mattheo says slowly, a dangerous edge creeping into his voice. “How does he know that? That scar is on your thigh.”
Tom finally looks up from his book, meeting Mattheo’s eyes with an unfazed expression. “I know a lot of things,” Tom replies coolly.
“Yeah, but that’s not something just anyone would know,” Mattheo insists, his tone edging closer to anger as he keeps his gaze locked on Tom.
