Hello, I am Gustavo Antonio Gelpí Jr. (born December 11). I have had the privilege of serving as a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and as the former chief United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1965 and received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University in 1987. Following that, I obtained my Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1991. My legal career has been diverse, from serving as a law clerk to Juan Pérez-Giménez to working as an assistant federal public defender. It has been a fulfilling journey dedicated to upholding justice and the rule of law.
