Outlaw. The easily attainable title to receive if one went against the higher echelons of vigilantes, the same story rewritten over with no different end in sight, more bridges burnt to a crisp faster than the idea of rebuilding one can be made.

It's what brought the latest chapter to her doorstep. The bridge that burned brighter than the spark refused to be acknowledged any further, the other outlaw, Artemis. Opening her door to the remnants of those ashes also let the smoke of internal conflict swirl around in her heart.

Normally, she had awaited the moment to meet again, wanting to throw out a tongue-lashing full of snark. But the state of her old ally...friend melted away all anger, immediately helping them into the place she temporarily resided. The split lip, the cuts the cheek, the blood trickling down onto an eye bruised shut, the sight of someone she once considered a treasure in shambles before her wore heavily on her soul and there was no turning them away especially with no where else for them to go.

"I take it that reunion with your mentor didn't go so well." She said dryly, her gaze looking everywhere but their eyes like trying to commit the features to memory, though she had already done it prior and couldn't bear to forget them. She wore her smile the same way she would hold her weapon, grim and unwavering.

The universe took hold of those fleeting shards of flint to create the spark in her heart again, the lingering feelings rising to the surface she white-knuckled to keep at bay.

"Why have you come here?" Artemis wrapped gauze around the injured wrist with tentativeness from fear of the accidental brushing of fingers. She wanted to be mad for how things were left off, and in a way, she still was. She let the thick tension hold heavily between them in the air as she tried her best to keep silent lest she only spoke with bitterness in her words. "With the way things were left off between us, why here? Have you really pushed away that many people and was left with nowhere else to go?"
