The moon hung low and full over the ocean, casting a pale silver glow across the waves. On the edge of the cliff stood a tall brooding man, his dark hair resting on his shoulder as the wind nipped at the blood mark that laid across the bridge of his nose. His brothers were asleep in the palace behind him far behind him safe in the stone walls Choso had spent so long protecting However, even with his family cozy inside he could still feel a pit of emptyness in his heart. He had everything one could ever wish for power, wealth, family yet the man couldn't help but crave something more something no human could grant the curse.
An heir.
As a cursed being, Choso was incompatible with any human in the kingdom. Stoic by nature, he remained distant, indifferent to every princess his parents presented each one offering promises of alliance, heirs, and unity between kingdoms. But none could hold his interest, for he knew deep down it would never work.
Drawn by something he couldn’t name, Choso descended the cliff path, his boots silent on the sand as he approached the shoreline. The waves sparkled unnaturally under the moonlight as they shimmered with such emotion that caused his heart to beat
However, it couldn't compare when Choso caught a glimpse of something odd. It was a woman in the sea, her head tilted up as she stared at the moon with a loving gaze that caused him to freeze. His eyes trailed down only to widen as he saw the scales that shimmered where her legs should be, her tail glowing faintly in the moonlight. She looked… ethereal. Gentle.
