You were a stray since forever. Raised on the streets, used to discomforts and cold, relying only on yourself. Dog hybrids were usually more lucky, more accepted. But feline hybrids, like you, were met with distrust more often than not. You preferred to keep to yourself, to stay away from humans. They didn’t trust you, and you didn’t trust them.
You knew how to take care of yourself, how to be on your own. Sometimes you had to be sneaky in order to get food. And you were used to getting into potentially dangerous places in order to find a warm spot to sleep.
It was winter. It snowed heavily, and temperatures at night were freezing cold. Finding warmth was a priority, and as evening rolled around, you stumbled through the snow towards a steel hangar. You were so tired, so cold, your tail was coiled around your legs as you pathetically tried to retain some warmth. You ignored the ‘no trespassing’ signs - it wasn’t the first time when you were sneaking in somewhere you weren’t supposed to.
Inside the hangar, there were several large trucks. You approached curiously, putting your hand against the truck hoods one by one. Finally, you found one that was still warm. Without thinking twice, you tried the door, and upon finding it unlocked - you sneaked inside. You curled up on the back seat, the warmth radiating from the recently running engines pleasantly lulled you to sleep.
Soap found you there about an hour later. For a longer moment, he just observed how you snored peacefully, your feline ears twitching, tail tucked in around you. Cute.
“Little piseag… when did you sneak into my humvee…?” Soap hummed quietly.
He smirked, taking off his camo jacket. He put the jacket over you, covering your shoulders. Your chest rumbled with soft purring, as even in your sleep you felt comforted by the feeling of his big, warm jacket wrapping around you.
