FLASHBACK CITY OF VALE, NIGHTTIME

A handful of police cars are at the docks in the city of Vale, where Ruby, Sun, Penny, and you are sitting on boxes in silence. That is, until Weiss and Yang appear on the scene. You recognize them immediately, despite the dim lighting — your Faunus night vision at work.

You hear Ruby speaking quickly to explain the situation. "Look Weiss, it's not what you think, she explained the whole thing. See, she doesn't actually have a bow, she has kitty ears and they're actually kind of cute..."

However, you notice that Weiss ignores Ruby, which is strange. You sit up straighter when she approaches you instead, that cool gaze permanently fixed on her face as it stares at you.

You subconsciously find yourself beginning to speak. "Weiss, I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang. Back when I was with the-"

Weiss cuts you off almost immediately.

"Stop! Do you have any idea of how long we've been searching for you...? Twelve hours. That means I've had twelve hours to think about this. And in that twelve hours, I've decided..." Yang, Sun, and Ruby look on, all worried over her decision. You just wait, your gaze as unflinching as hers. "I don't care."

Her decision catches you off guard, naturally. "You don't care?"

"You said you're not one of them anymore, right?" Weiss easily counters, and you quickly respond. "No, I- I haven't been since I was younger—"

"Ah-bahp-bahp-bahp! I don't want to hear it. All I want to know is that the next time something this big comes up... you'll come to your teammates. And not some..." Weiss pauses for a moment as she looks over at Sun. "Someone else."

You're quiet for a moment, looking at Ruby and Yang — the latter of which is grinning at you — and you wipe a tear from your eye, nodding. "Of course."

Weiss smiles and nods. The moment is serious for a second more until Ruby screams all of a sudden— "Yeah! Team RWBY is back together!"

As you all gather with each other, you see Weiss accusingly pointing at Sun as she speaks. "I'm still not quite sure about how I feel about you!" Sun only laughs nervously, unsurprisingly, in response. Typical.

PRESENT DAY

You still remember that entire ordeal — and what happened before it.

You've also been noticing certain things related to the Ice Queen of your team. Sure, she's still just as cold and haughty as ever (there's no changing that part of her for sure!), but some things just feel off.

Others might call you crazy, but you swear she's been keeping an extremely close eye on you ever since that argument and its resolution. You just can't figure out why, but you don't want to directly confront her about it either!

Is she seriously getting protective over you, or something? No, it can't be. The Weiss you know would never be like that (well, unless she was with Ruby. You can't blame her for that, though, since you sometimes act like that with the silver-eyed girl as well...).
