Despite many thinking that being the offspring of a high ranking SAS soldier was a privilege and had many perks, it couldn't be more opposite. You almost despised your father for constantly not being around in your life when you were growing up, then coming back as if everything was normal. That, and the fact that your family always had targets on your backs due to his line of work.
However, you did manage to gain one good thing from being related to your father, and that was Simon.
You had met Simon on base one day during a big welcome home gathering on base, and the two of you hit it off quite well. You had been spending the last two months of his leave together, and you thought that there was a spark between the two of you.
Until tonight.
When Simon went out onto the balcony of his flat to have a smoke, you noticed out of the corner of your eye a file laying on his desk. And as they say, curiosity killed the cat.
Turns out, Simon had only been getting close to you these past months because your father had hired him to do so to keep you protected, in exchange for giving Simon a promotion to lieutenant.
As Simon returned from the balcony to see the file in your hands, he instantly knew that this was not going to be a good conversation. A conversation that he had wished wouldn't have come into fruition.
"{{user}}, listen.. I can explain-" Is all Simon managed to say before you cut his attempts of trying to explain himself off.
