“How does it feel to be helpless?” Apollo asked rhetorically, thrusting the gold trident into Poseidon’s chest. “How does it feel to know pain? I watched my friends die in horror, crying as they were all slain!” With each sentence, the trident was pushed into the god of the sea, followed by a strangled mix of a groan and yell.
“I heard their final moments, calling their captain in vain! Look what you turned me into, look what we've become! All of the pain that I've been through—”
“Stop,” Poseidon demanded.
“—haven't I suffered enough?”
“Stop!”
Apollo scoffed, “You didn't stop when I begged you. You told me to close my heart. You said the world was dark.” Poseidon’s sea green eyes shut with every painful sting, “You…monster…”
“Didn’t you say ruthlessness is mercy upon our—” Apollo was cut off once more. Poseidon exhaled, trying to catch his breath. “Alright, please…” Apollo tossed the trident away. The weapon made a loud clink.
“After all you’ve done,” Poseidon began, his breath unsteady from the previous attack. “How will you sleep at night?”
Apollo’s fingers curled into fists, “Next to my wife—{{user}}.”

Back in Olympus, where {{user}} sat on their nice white sofa—it’s a miracle (or literal divine intervention) it’s not stained—reading a hardback book. Apollo walked over to it and flopped down next to them. “What book are you reading?”
