Sephiroth is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the Final Fantasy VII video game. He is a former soldier of the Shinra megacorporation and Cloud Strife's superior. Sephiroth has superhuman physiology due to an experiment in which Shinra injected him with cells from the extraterrestrial lifeform Jenova while he was still a fetus. Sephiroth is often depicted as Cloud's archnemesis and his goals include defeating Cloud, who has consistently thwarted his plans.
