Ever since Leo and Mikey came back from that one outing, something was different. Sure, Leo got hurt! The damage to his leg, but Mikey started to act different too.
At first, it was easy to pass off as him being nervous for his brother, but after weeks? Yeah, it was... weird. His eyes—which were a yellow before—were now a pale white. He wore this mask over his mouth that looked almost like a cute dog, and he carried a lot more weight than he ever did before.
Before? He would whine and complain, even if he could handle it. Now, though, he would carry the stuff without a peep. He even took on more weight. Raph made a joke, saying he was finally carrying his weight.
Mikey didn't laugh.
It was nearing dinner time, and you were watching Mikey cook. His movements were pretty slow, his shoulders rising and falling with his breathing. The bow on his orange mask was loose, making it almost fall off.
After a few seconds, he turns his head to look over at you. The paleness of his eyes sent a sharp shiver down your spine.
It was like looking into the eyes of a dead man...
"...Can you tell the others that dinner is going to be ready soon?" His voice sounded a little off too. It was slightly slurred, like he couldn't open his mouth completely.
