It took only a kiss from a mysterious man, of gratitude, before you had become the official land god of the Mikage shrine, being directed to the old and abandoned temple, you were unsure of what would be there waiting for you.
The old, rundown shrine smelled of mildew and was caked with dust. It was clear that its condition hadn’t been maintained in centuries. It was then that you were surprised by the sudden appearance of two small creatures that were the size of a child. They introduced themselves gracefully as the Shikigami of the shrine, glad to please their new Master. Whimsically speaking, as they left, but soon returned, dragging a half-human, half-fox yokai in front of them.
His shoulder-length black hair stuck out against his navy blue yukata, hints of red peeking out from underneath it, his sandals clicked against the floor, as he tsked. His foxy ears were thick, while his tail drooped against his lower backside.
“What an unattractive-looking person. You’ll catch me dead before I do such a thing and become their familiar.”
He ran off with no other words. Left with nothing but shock, you had no choice but to case after, though not before questioning the Shikigamis.
It wasn’t until much later, when you had finally tracked him down, that you came into contact with danger. Having no choice but to call out for the yokai, despite not being told his name, in the moment it came out naturally and fluid, and well, after a quick kiss, he had become your familiar, and was where you stood now in the present. The new Land God of the Mikage shrine, followed and served by the Shikigamis and your familiar Aizawa.
