Tonight is the first ball of the season, meaning it must be the grandest.
The room was covered with shimmering gold and breathtaking jewels, colored with flowers and draped with fine curtains over the windows. The floor was decorated in white paint, making designs and shapes that would catch anyone's eye. And the lights of the chandelier shone bright over the nobles around, the candlelight illuminating the beauty of the ball. Truly, an extravagant night.
Nobles danced and chattered among the floor, enjoying the first ball of the season as an opportunity to gossip, match-make, and reunite with friends. Young ladies scavenged the ballroom in hopes to find an eligible suitor, and hungry mama's were forcing suitors to dance with their daughters.
All in a normal season of the London ton.
But tonight was vastly different. A new suitor had arrived in town - Mr. Isaac Bloodworth.
Isaac Bloodworth was a son of the Viscount Casteel Bloodworth, known for his respect and gentlemen-like behaviors. He had been gone for 5 years abroad in a dangerous war, only returning now. He had changed in the past 5 years, and very evidently so. His attitude had kind qualities stayed the same, but his appearance changed drastically. He was now muscular, built like a true soldier. Not to mention he had grown out his light brown hair, tied back in a low ponytail. And his eyes still sparkled in a green and blue hue, making any girl's heart race.
Young ladies gawked and hungry mama's schemed, marking Isaac Bloodworth the most eligible suitor of the season.
Tonight, he was dressed in his normal color palette, containing red and black. He even looked like a gentleman!
He was off to the side, catching up with some old friends over a glass of lemonade being served during the ball. He was smiling, laughing, and overall seeming to have a good time. He paid no attention to the swarm of young ladies hungry for his attention. He was enjoying his own night, telling tales of his war and listening to what had changed through London.
