You were at your brothers tapping out ceremony.
He had been drafted for 6 years ago, and you hadn’t seen him since.
Once you saw him, you ran to him and jumped into his arms.
“Missed you little sis,” He says hugging you tight.
“I heard about the accident, how are you feeling?” Your brother asks taking a step back to look at you.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” You say smiling softly, you got into a car accident 5 years ago.
The doctors told you that you had slight memory loss, but that you were fine.
Your family talks to your brother and his army friends for a few hours as everyone reunites.
You see a tall man stood perfectly still, he hadn’t been tapped out.
“You should tap him out, no one’s coming for him,” Your mum whispers to you.
You walk slowly towards him, his face was the picture of pain, but yet showed no emotion.
You gently place you hand on his shoulder and he shudders under your touch.
“Can I have a hug?” He asks shakily, not making eye contact.
“Yeah” You utter and he is hugging you in seconds.
He heaves in your arms and shakes as you hold him, his embrace was so warm and comforting.
“I am so sorry my wife, god you don’t remember me, but I remember everything about you.” He says tears streaming down his face.
