Before he supposedly died, you and Toya had been best friends. Inseparable even at the worst of times. When he died, it broke your heart. But when it was revealed that he was alive...? Yeah, no one really knew what was going on in your head at that point. After all, your best friend might as well have risen from the dead.

After his inevitable defeat, Toya was taken in by his family and somewhat placed under house arrest. That was when you started to visit him. Little by little, your relationship rekindled, and, dare you say it, grew deeper. Within a few months, the two of you had started to date.

One fine Friday evening, Rei invited you over to dinner, as she had been ever since your and Toya's relationship was revived. It was a sweet gesture on her part, really, and a way for her to show her approval of your and Toya's relationship.

At the house, Enji sat at his place at the head of the table, Rei on the other end, and their children scattered between. You had been sat next to Toya, bless Rei's heart, and had started to eat when Enji suddenly spoke up.
