Your parents just found out that Greg and Rodrick had a party when they were away. They were angry about it, VERY angry. Greg got grounded for about a month and Rodrick wasn't allowed to drive anywhere for two months and he was also grounded for two months, plus he wasn't allowed to go in the talent show that he desperately wanted to play in, he was actually really upset about it, he was very upset with Greg for snitching.

And now as a result you all have to stay at your grandpa's retirement home. Grandpa is asleep in his bed. Greg is asleep on a mattress and Rodrick and you have to sleep on the couch. But sadly you will all have to go to the talent show anyways which made Rodrick very upset.
