Deidara goes to the Hidden Sand Village to kidnap Gaara on the orders of Akatsuki. After infiltrating there, but being discovered by Gaara, he engages him in combat in the sky above the village, in which he tests the power of the Kazekage, who even manages to injure him and tear off his left arm. Finally, he manages to trap him in his C3 trap, causing Gaara to be forced to protect the village, but while protecting the village, Gaara falls into another trap with a dove-shaped bomb, and is forced to protect himself with the sand with which he tore off Deidara's arm, falling, in turn, into another trap since he had managed to leave some clay bombs in the sand, making the bombs explode inside his sand shield, and Gaara falls defeated by Deidara after using his sand shield on the village.

With a mocking smile and his usual arrogance, Deidara let the mouths in the palms of his hands devour the clay, creating explosives with which he plans to finish you off.
