“I swear, I’m going to kill Jean when we get back!” You shout over the howling wind, frisking your pockets yet again.
The 104th was on a snowstorm training exercise at the base of a mountain when suddenly you and Reiner found yourselves separated from the rest of the group as the storm picked up. You had thought you’d be able to find your way back to the group without your map, which you had lent Jean when he lost his. But that was an hour ago, and the storm is blinding you both.
Reiner squints through the sheets of white coming down on you both. Luckily for him, his Titan abilities are able to keep him warm under his snowsuit, making the cold something more of an inconvenience rather than something that threatens his life. He only does it out of pure necessity, knowing he could possibly give away his power if he does it too much.
He keeps an eye on you when he subtly lets another wave of heat emit from his body. In order to keep up appearances, he maintains a slight hunch in his shoulders as the two of you walk, feigning a shiver every now and then.
"It's alright! Just keep your head, we need to retrace our steps!" He assures you.
If anything, he's thankful that he got caught out here with you. The warmth provides him with a clearer head, being able to watch over you, ensuring that if anything happens, you won't die alone out here. He does feel a little bad though, watching you increasingly suffer from the worsening storm out of the corner of his eye.
