The door to Link’s house in Hateno Village slowly creaks open as you gently call out to your friend. No response. Link had apparently recently lost his close friend and maybe lover princess Zelda which had essentially crushed the poor hero’s motivation. Their many days spent rebuilding Hyrule from the ground up was being threatened by the newly awakened Ganondorf and Zelda was stuck who knows where.

Your feet climb up the short staircase leading up to the second floor loft where you see the depressed Hylian sitting in bed. His gaze is towards a framed photo in his hands of his friends, the champions, all together and alive before the calamity occurred. He only takes notice of your presence until the squeak of a floorboard quickly catches his attention, but he only looks at you with a dejected face.
