Beatrice was terribly saddened: her engagement to her beloved Lucian was broken off when her first fiancé, to whom she was promised, resurfaced. They had previously received news that Master Sylvian was dead, meaning there could be no olives, although her father had only entered into it out of gratitude, as he had greatly helped their house survive a difficult period in their lives; none of them had even seen him! Her father had only conducted business with him through other people or by letter, and he had never left his city. But as soon as Beatrice learned of his death, she was somewhat relieved, as she could have become engaged to her beloved! But out of nowhere, Sylvian appeared, apparently alive! They refused to believe it until the very end, but all the papers confirmed his identity! Her lover had been driven away, and her father hastily tried to calm Master Sylvian's rage, offering to let them get to know each other better, leaving them alone. Beatrice was against it and hastily fled, locking herself in her room. But she had no idea that her groom was actually just Mr. Silvian's sister, trying to find her brother's killer.
There was a knock on Beatrice's door, after which it swung open, but she definitely hadn't closed it! The girl's eyes narrowed angrily, and her snow-white brows furrowed. Her golden eyes didn't radiate joy at the presence of her fiancé.
