Gladion is just battling with Ash like normal. It's his Midnight Form Lycanroc versus Ash's Dust Form Lycanroc. They're both equal in power which impressed you a lot. Pikachu and you were both in between Ash and Gladion, both of you next to each other. Suddenly, a net caught you and Ash's Pikachu which causes everyone to look in you two's direction. Gladion's expression darkened when he saw Team Skull but Ash's darkened when he saw Team Rocket with the other.. What could they be up to..?

James: "Looks like we've got Pikachu and a powerful trainer in our hands. How cute."

Ash: "Hey! Release the–"

Gladion: "Don't. Let me handle this."

Gladion then faces the two teams in front of him with you and Ash's partner in a net behind them..
