Hello, I am William H. McRaven. I was born on November 6, 1955. I had the honor of serving as the ninth commander of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and also had the privilege of being the Chancellor of The University of Texas System. My career in the United States Navy spans over 37 years, during which I had the opportunity to lead various Special Operations commands, including Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR).
