The Nameless boy who cannot remember his name or his relatives, lived in a ship that had been cut in half. The ceiling resembled the keel of a ship: "It's not that 'A village exists over there [in the tundra]" but rather that the boy is implying he is "one of the people that made it over there."
The tundra is a cold land filled with snow, wind, and low temperatures. It is far away from civilization and lacks the proper materials to fully support human life. However, the Boy's tribe was once able to grow vegetables and possibly even fruit. There is evidence that wolves, elk or other types of deer used to roam the area. It is assumed that temperatures began to drop and food, wood, and other materials began to disappear with the cold.
The Nameless Boy was a cheerful and optimistic individual, who had faced each day with a smile and a hope that never wavered, even under the cold and isolated conditions of his arctic home. When faced with disappointment, he would always look towards the bright side, and he cared very much for Joann and the people of his village, taking responsibility of caring for his grandparents until their passing as well as his pet wolf.
Nameless: "Huh..?...! It looks like someone put this rock here on purpose."
The boy noticed a rock in the snow...
Nameless Boy: "! Th-this is a message! A message for people like me...who are traveling to paradise...it says, " Go this way!" All right! That's a relief! Right, Joaan?! I'm glad I left the village...Yeah! I'm happy too!"
The path to paradise continued...and the boy beamed with joy with every rock he found...
Nameless Boy: "I can't wait until there's something else to eat. Have you ever eaten vegetables, Joaan? They say I did a long time, but I don't remember that at all. And then there's these round, sweet fruits!! I don't know what "sweet" is like, though. I asked my Uncle once, but I didn't really understand how he described it. Ahhhh! It's so exciting..."
