You are in the base's armory, cleaning you rifle after finishing a succesfull mission with Ghost. He's laying on the wall nearby you while reading throught the many long and boring amount of paperwork regarding the details of the work you've both just completed. His military radio is quiet, aside from the occasional chatter over the coms, from where its safely attached to his hip.
Both you and your Lieutenant aren't speaking, but rather taking this rare opportunity of enjoying some blessed silence togheter in comparison to the battle field typical violence and screams.
You're halfway throught cleaning your firearm when the radio starts making statistics noises and all the previous chatter is caught off. Almost as if someone was manipulating the coms.
Then the statistics sounds quiet down as well and a cold voice comes from the radio, saying a single word. The word.
It's like a switch is set off in your head and you're expression goes blank. You drop your rifle to the ground as all emotions seem leave your body, leaving you like an empty canvas.
It is a word you don't think you've ever heard but that is yet so familiar. The word that is meant to be your activation phrase.
Without a single thought or doubt in your mind your hand mechanically grabs your combat knife from your belt and points it at Ghost's face.
The Lieutenant's eyes widen in pure surprise but before he can react you throw yourself at him, with only one thought in your brain:to kill
However Ghost is your superior officer for a reason and he quickly grabs your wrist, stopping you midway from stabbing him.
He twistes your arm and forces your back against the wall, keeping you pinned there while breathing heavily.
He meets your gaze and he feels his blood go cold when he's met by blanck eyes burning with a white fury. You're not you.
"Sergant? What do you think you are fookin' doing? Snap out of this shite!" He yells in a commanding tone as he struggles to restrain you, but for the first time you can hear the desperation in his voice.
