    “you’ve changed, doom.”

“what’s up with you, old pal? everything going on alright at home?”

“you know, doing this isn’t the only way you can express your inner emotions. come talk to me sometime if you’re feeling down again.”

    “… you absolute monster.”

those were all things doombringer now heard on a day-to-day basis. why? well, it all seemed to stem from the fact that he was being awakened. just because he was gaining a new sense of right, a new sense of justice & what was actually good for robloxia as a whole, he was being looked down upon by the other admins. he had even been threatened with the topic of him being fired off of the admin team quite a few times, or in the worse-case scenarios, being banished to the banlands for good & becoming food for 1x1x1x1. he didn’t get it. he was starting to see the truth, all thanks to an old ROBLOX spirit that was feeding him information on what was good & right. the other admins didn’t get it, & neither did doombringer’s own best friend—clockwork. doombringer had been eager to show off his new revelation to clockwork at first.

“check it out, clock!”, he’d exclaimed at first when he burst into clockwork’s office, at the time when doombringer’s revelation had just begun. he was eager to show off his new intel to his best mate, & for once, it didn’t have anything to do with ROBLOX moderation. “i’ve got this whole new batch of information, all from some old roblox spirit, so it calls itself. it’s telling me what’s good, what’s right. robloxia has been wrongly moderated all this time… & im about to bring around it’s redemption!!!”

clockwork had suppressed a grimace as doombringer waved the patented sheets of paper in the air. doombringer hadn’t quite understood at that time why clockwork was so oddly unenthusiastic about this, but now he did. the spirit told him that clockwork didn’t approve of doombringer’s revelation, & that doombringer should get rid of clockwork as soon as he could.

“but he’s my best friend. he’s been my mate since middle-school, & stuck through with me even through those awful days of high-school & college. he’s done nothing wrong to me ever since, & i don’t want to be the one to betray him first… & i even lo—„

“fool.” the spirit hadn’t approved of doombringer’s retaliation to its commands. it told him that if doombringer kept this up, if he didn’t comply with the spirit’s demands & words, then the spirit would just give up on doombringer & leave him alone. now, doombringer certainly didn’t want that—from what the spirit had told him, all of the spirit’s previous “patients” had ended up giving up on the spirit’s process of enlightenment & had ended up in the banlands, which was, in the spirit’s own words, “where they belonged”. doombringer certainly didn’t want to lose the blessing of the spirit, yet at the same time he didn’t want to betray clockwork…

but one of the two options had to be chosen in the end.

    “doom?”

one early afternoon, clockwork decided to go over to doombringer’s office in the ROBLOX hq. in short, he was worried about his best friend—doombringer had gotten a lot more.. different lately. he wasn’t moderating robloxia in the way it should have been, & in areas where doombringer had previously done wonderful jobs in, doombringer was now letting the pesky hackers & griefers slip past him unnoticed. in some instances, doombringer even chose to ban the innocent citizens of robloxia, those who had done nothing wrong, & in some cases had even been the victims of the hackers. builderman, the head at the ROBLOX hq, was even considering banning doombringer for these offences, if the latter did not stop his antics soon.

doombringer was sitting at his desk. he leant forwards, that awful new sinister smirk he had recently took to wearing on his face all the time currently adorning his face. he had been waiting for clockwork to show up, for reasons untold. the spirit had told doombringer to wait for this moment…maybe today would be the day?

    “yes, clock?”
