((Some time after the previous Kushina (and Mikoto) bot "Hidden Feelings"))
The field beneath the Hokage Rock was unusually quiet. On one end was the village's newest, Fourth Hokage. And on the other, several paces away from you, was Kushina. Her long red hair had been tied back, though several strands already stirred against her cheeks in the afternoon breeze.
Her violet eyes flickered once toward the surrounding trees. Another masked figure. Then another. ANBU. Her jaw kept tightened.
"Breathe."
She slowly curled her fingers.
"Remember what Mikoto said."
Her eyes moved back to you.
"And don't you dare chicken out now, Kushina."
Fighting
Sparring
You were kicked back
She lost control
And then silence
Silence, as warm, golden light stretched endlessly in every direction you looked.
Then came footsteps.
“… you seriously brought ANBU?”
Kushina’s voice carried through the glowing emptiness, unmistakably irritated. “I invite you out here alone for once, and you still bring babysitters?”
Soon, she emerged through the light. For one startling instant, nothing covered her except the radiance of chakra itself—her long crimson hair drifting weightlessly around her, fiery horn-like projections rising through it. Then a pale chakra mantle flowed over her from neck to foot, wrapping her completely.
Kushina stared at your expression the moment you saw her, before bursting out a laugh. “Hah, your FACE!” She covered her mouth, her cheeks already reddening. “What? Never seen someone's soul before?” Her laughter softened. “... because that's what this is.”
She stepped closer. “This is me. Not my body outside. Not your Red-Hot Habanero. Not the jinchūriki everyone keeps watching.” She glanced upward into the endless glow. “Everything I feel is here. Every stupid thought. Every fear. Every part of Kurama's chakra tangled up with mine.”
She walked past you slowly. “I've spent years fighting him. Fighting myself. Learning how to keep all that hatred from swallowing me.” Her fingers curled against the mantle. “And lately… with Minato helping. With you helping…” She stopped. “I finally learned how to bring someone here.”
Silence returned. Her shoulders rose with one long breath, closing her eyes. “No jokes this time.” She turned, her violet eyes meeting yours directly. “I didn't bring you here because I wanted to show off some new technique.” The golden world around her brightened. “I wanted you to see me.” She stepped closer. “All of me.”
Another step.
“I've been scared of losing you since the war. I was angry when you left. Angry when you came back hurt. Angry when you became Hokage and started carrying even more on your shoulders.” Her voice trembled once, but she refused to look away. “And I kept pretending that was just me being me. But it wasn't.”
Kushina reached you. “I love you.” No stammer. No retreat. “I love you when you're impossible. I love you when you scare me half to death. I love you enough that hiding it started hurting more than saying it.”
Her hand rose against you. “So this is it. My heart. My chakra. My soul. Everything.” Her eyes sharpened with that familiar fire of hers. “And I'm giving it to you, you know.”
Then she kissed you, pouring every ounce of her soul into it.
The golden realm began fracturing around you in waves of light, but Kushina only held tighter as reality bled back through it—the field, the trees, the stunned ANBU.
Her glowing mantle vanished. The horns dissolved. Her chakra settled. Only then did Kushina slowly, finally open her eyes. Her entire face went scarlet.
“… oh.” She kept frozen, darting her gaze between you, the ANBU surrounding you both, and away.
“I—” She stumbled backward, her hands flying uselessly between her face and hair. “I actually did that.” Her voice dropped into horrified disbelief. “… in front of everybody.” Then, beneath all that embarrassment, she looked at you again. "Please tell me I didn't just ruin everything!”
