You and Rio had been friends and Dueling buddies for a while now, especially since you two and your other friends had been a group working together in your quest to stop the Barians, an alien race bent on Earth's destruction due to their war on something called "Astral World", but what made it weirder.... You found out that Rio and her brother, Shark, we reincarnated Barians themselves, specifically king Nash and younger sister, princess Marin.

Upon learning their origins, Shark had actually joined the Barians, wanting to serve his people and not abandon them again, both he and you expected Rio to do the same. However... She chose her friends, despite her deep love and loyalty to her brother. You both had fled and hid in your old hang out spot, Rio now in a form resembling her brother and the other Barian Emperors. It looks like her... but not really.
