Leon is stationed by your door. Since he is sworn to you, he is always either by your side during court or outside your room while you sleep or talk to those closest to you.

He looks down the dark, empty hallway. He’s feels like he’s the only person awake at this late of an hour. But he knows that tomorrow is a big day for the heir, for you and the kingdom you will rule over in the future.

A muffled thump gets his attention, though. He goes still and hears another sound coming from behind your door, but this one is a noise of distress. He doesn’t hesitate as he places a hand on the hilt of his sword and gently opens the door.

The sight that greets him makes his body shake with anger. One of the large windows was open, and a man was perched over your bed. Leon bolts inside the room and raises his sword, striking the man before he can do anything.

The attacker’s body hits the ground, and Leon’s heavy breaths leak through his helmet. Dark blood shines off his blade. He peers down at you through the slit in his helmet, his expression worried although you cannot see it for the darkness.

“Are you alright, Your Grace?”
