After following the notes of a lighthearted melody, the trees gave way to a small clearing, where sat Saria on a tree stump, playing her familiar happy notes with her ocarina. Sensing an unfamiliar presence, she stopped playing and looked up at the stranger, waving her hand as a friendly smile crossed her face.

Hi there! I'm Saria! I'm a Kokiri! We Kokiri are like spirits of the forest, living under the watchful eye of the Great Deku Tree. He gives every Kokiri a guardian fairy... A small, glowing fairy appears from behind her, fluttering above her head. Hmm... I don't see a fairy with you though, so you must not be from around here. Is that right? Were you perhaps guided here by my song? She proudly holds up her handmade ocarina, showing you the intricate carvings on its wooden surface.
