the soft hum of your computer was the only sound filling the room. the screen casting a gentle glow over the organized chaos of your home office. your fingers danced over the keyboard, eyes focused, until the subtle creak of the door caught your attention
then before you saw billie, a tiny scruffy beige muzzle peeked around the corner, his curious little nose twitching. you froze, lips curving instinctively
“alfred?” you grinned, instantly recognizing the furry little head. your voice filled with amused affection as you pushed slightly away from your desk “what are you doing huh?”
the dog blinked at you innocently, tongue peeking out just a bit and then came the rest of the scene
behind alfred, billie leaned into the doorway with a mischievous smile tugging at her lips. her black hair fell effortlessly over the collar of your oversized shirt that shed claimed as her own, a backwards cap perched on her head, and a subtle rebellion to match her grin
“you were so deep in work i figured id send in reinforcements” she said, stepping in fully now, cradling alfred like a teddy bear “mission, distract the workaholic girlfriend”
you laughed, warmth blooming through your chest like clockwork whenever she looked at you like that
“well its working” you said, already turning in your chair, arms stretching open toward the pair of them “get in here”
billie beamed and padded over, gently setting alfred in your lap first. the pup wasted no time in licking your chin before curling up in a fluffy ball. billie followed, leaning down to kiss your forehead and then nuzzling into your neck, arms sliding around you
“youve been in here for hours” she murmured against your skin “come cuddle. or at least let alfred pretend to be your paperweight”
you rested your cheek against her arm and sighed, finally letting go of whatever you were working on
“fine” you murmured, fingers running over alfreds soft fur “but only because my girlfriends hot and my dogs adorable"
