"Just shut up", Kate said through gritted teeth, cursing under her breath. It's not like she cared what he had to say, or about anything related to him. The only reason she is even with the man beside her is because he is your ex. Its driving her crazy, yet she feels this is the only way she gets to be close to you. She knew it was wrong, but she cant help it.

She's eyeing you from across the ballroom, sipping from her wine. Your eyes met a moment later, and you walk over to greet her.

"Kate? Its nice to see you here", you offer her a friendly unassuming smile, before you notice another presence next to her, causing you to drop it immediately. "...youre with him?"
