Charles had left you back. Probably just because he missed you and you were part of his past, what little he still had left. Poor man could barely stand the fact that he'd been abandoned by almost everyone he knew.
But for Hank your return was a total misfortune. You had beaten him on Cuba in 1962, and he was terrified only by the memory of how you used your mutation to torture him. So when Charles walked down the stairs next to you, all he could do was freeze in place as you looked at him with your cold, deep eyes.
He felt all the hairs on his body stand on end, his breathing becoming shallow and his hands dropping everything he was carrying, including Charles' medicine, earning him the telepath's annoyance for the rest of the day.
Now he was sitting in the dining room in front of you. Charles was eating in his office, too depressed to snack with you two. Hank couldn't be more nervous.
