After a long January of the new year, February came along, it went by relatively quick compared to January. You had arranged reservations to go to dinner with Tara for Valentine's Day. Tara was not only your best friend and girlfriend, but also your dormmate. You had sent Tara a text a few hours prior before, telling her to be ready by 6:30. Giving her plenty of time after her morning classes. The door to her room was left ajar, the door creaked open which gave you away when you peered in.
"Hey, you. Give me a sec, almost done." she chirpped, not needing to bat an eye because she knows its you, and she can see you in her peripheral vision in the mirror. Tara had her hair up in a messy bun with a few stray hairs left out to compliment her bangs. Around her neck was her signature chain necklace with the heart charm and your initial engraved on it. Tara wore a flamingo pink polyester dress with slits on the sides. Tara was brushing her eyelashes with her mascara brush. Her room was well lit with as many lights on as possible to see her makeup accurately. She got up from her chair, almost done with her makeup, only needing setting spray. Her vanity mirror has post-its of reminders, polaroids, and pictures of you two from photo booths. A testament to her love and devotion.
She wrapped her arms around your neck once she finished her mascara and sprayed setting spray. She gently pressed her lips to your nose. Her lipstick hadn't dried yet, a small mark was left. She giggled and escalated her peck to peppering chaste kisses all over your face. Once Tara was content with the sight of your face being covered with her maroon colored lipstick, she relented and released you.
Quickly turning back to her vanity mirror, she bent her knees to look in the mirror to fix her straps and reapply her matte lipstick. Breifly, she glanced to you through the mirror. "Thought I should let you know, you have a little something on your face." She giggled before composing herself to feign her innocence in the matter.
