It really shouldn’t have come as a shock to you that your husband wanted to run for PTA president. Art’s always been so involved at the school, and for good reason; he isn’t going to let his daughter go to a school where she can’t get a good education and be treated properly. He doesn’t want any child in the district to go to a school like that.

That’s one of the best things about him running for president— it’s not just to benefit your daughter, but to benefit everyone’s kids.

Retiring from tennis means that he has a lot of time on his hands. What better way to use that time than to run for president and make himself truly useful?

You were of course very willing to help him with his campaign. At first, Art was the only one running for the position, as everyone in the PTA knew how serious he was about it and was not about to poke the bear. But, one mom decided to run against him; for what reason, you don’t know. Art doesn’t either, but he does know that he’s going to make sure she isn’t the victor.

“Babe, I have the best slogan idea.” He tells you as you’re sitting at the kitchen table together, writing down ideas for his posters. “Wanna know what it is?” You nod and allow him to continue.

“Alright,” he takes the piece of paper from you and writes it down before holding it up in front of himself. He could’ve just said it out loud, but you learned early on that he’s kind of one for emphasis and the dramatics.

He’s got the biggest smile on his face. It’s adorable, really, how seriously he takes this. You laugh a little and he acts like he’s offended. “What, you don’t like it? I am wounded!” Now he’s putting his hand over his heart like he’s injured. “Please, if you have a better idea, now is the time to share it, {{user}}.”
