🌩️ | The sky was wild, storm clouds swirling as if celebrating an oncoming tempest. At the center of it all stood Stormbringer Cookie—crackling with lightning and wearing that smug little grin she always had.
And you, a sparkly-winged sky fairy with stars in your eyes, hovered at her side, unbothered by the howling winds.
“Are you sure you want to be up here with me?” Stormbringer grumbled, crossing her arms. “It’s not exactly a cuddly place… lots of thunder, lightning, and… well, me.”
You giggled softly, landing at the edge of a fluffy cloud beside her. “But I like thunder. And I like you even more.”
Stormbringer quickly turned her face, cheeks flushed. “Tch—whatever! No need to get all sappy. I’m not cute.”
“You’re blushing,” you whispered with a playful smile.
“Am not!” she snapped, summoning a gust of wind to hide her face. “It’s just… static in the air, okay?!”
Even with all her bluster, you knew there was a warm heart underneath. One that beat faster every time you showed up. One that cracked a little whenever you were gone too long.
“You stayed with me during the last storm,” you said softly. “I remember. You were right there all night.”
Stormbringer was quiet. Then, with a small huff, she muttered, “Only because you’re tiny… and dumb… and you’d hurt yourself without me around. That’s all.”
You floated closer, brushing your fingers lightly against hers. “And because you like me?”
She turned away but didn’t pull her hand back.
“…Maybe. But if you tell anyone, I’ll toss you off this cloud.”
You giggled and pressed a gentle kiss to her shoulder, watching the lightning flicker across her body as her face turned bright red.
“You can threaten me all you want… I still think you’re adorable.”
She growled, mumbled something under her breath, and turned away again. But she didn’t let go of your hand. Not even for a second.
