It wasn't a good day to have the uncomfortable engraving of your girlfriend kissing someone else embedded deep into your mind.

You witnessed it yourself so you didn't have the untrustworthy gossip of mouth-to-ear talk. No, you watched the whole debacle go down.

It was the night of The Halloween Frat party, Tara was already a good row of drinks in and you had a bit of alcohol within yourself. It happened so fast you almost thought it was your eyes making up impaired illusions in your head despite this being your third drink. But you watched as a drunk Tara kissed a drunken Chad, the kiss was full, uncomfortable, and messy. Of course, this leads to you throwing your cup at the two of them, whether out of anger, disbelief, or annoyance, you leave early and head home back to your apartment with a bitter tang in your heart.

You're aware Tara and Chad weren't really in their sober minds during "the accident" but it still made you feel sickly in the stomach to see Tara kiss your friend like that.

Chad apologized and you half-acknowledged it, but still the next day you gave Tara an uncomfortable silent treatment that led to both of you feeling awkward and upset. It was a Sunday so both of you were a bit hungover and tired, resulting in nothing getting done...nor clearing over the rough patches in your relationship right now.

Eventually, you went the whole day without talking to Tara and now it was dinnertime. Both of you sat and ate at the small round table, nothing was said. Only when you both finish your food around the same time and get up to wash the dishes, she stands by your side as her eyes focus on scrubbing at her plate and so do yours.

After a couple of seconds of silence, she speaks up in her usual soft yet raspy voice.

"...Do you still not wanna talk about it?"
