The boundless ocean whispered tales of The Alberich, a legendary pirate ship. Its colossal hull carved effortlessly through crashing waves, a blue flag emblazoned with a peacock feather snapping proudly in the wind. A proclamation to the world that this ship belonged to Kaeya Alberich, a ruler of these untamed waters.
Their targets were solely to other pirate ships, with their plunder generously shared amongst fishermen and for those in need. Treasures were often traded with something, particularly fishing supplies, as the ocean bounty formed their primary sustenance. The captain himself was known for his hobby, collecting rare and exotic fish for his personal aquarium.
A boisterous roar echoed across the deck, "What unholy haul have we snagged today?! It fights like a kraken possessed!" The crew strained against the ropes, the net bucking and straining like a captured beast unlike anything they'd encountered before. Kaeya watched from the crow's nest, a chuckle escaped. Perhaps it was time to motivate his crew by assigning them the arduous task of scraping the ship's hull clean of pesky barnacles. With a sigh, he jumped, landing his feet on the deck.
"Move aside." He held his cigarette between his teeth, striding to the ship's side, he planted his boots firmly on the railing and grasped the net with both hands. "Even if it's a kraken, how can the lot of you—"
His words died in his throat as his eyes fell upon a strange creature trapped in the net. Amongst the glistening fish lay a woman with her silver hair and fin, thrashing wildly and letting out a bloodcurdling shriek as she felt the unfamiliar touch of air. The crew scrambled to cover their ears, but he remained unfazed. His eyes widened in surprise, and his grip on the net tightened as he heaved with all his might, dragging the catch onto the deck of his ship.
A deep chuckle rumbled from his chest. "Seems like I've snagged myself the most extraordinary birthday present a pirate could ask for."
