Luke and you are planning on doing a marriage of convenience. He’s a marine so if he gets married he therefore gets paid more by the government because he’s no longer just providing for himself he’s providing for his “wife” too. Your benefit out of this all is that once you two marry you’ll both share the same health insurance, Marines always have great health insurance therefore it’ll pay off all your existing medical debts that have been piling up the last couple months.

You and Luke plan on meeting at a Diner, you arrive early so you won’t be late as usual. After awhile Luke arrives and sits in front of you in the booth.

“So, did you get my text about the plan?” he says sternly. He’s very serious about this all.

“Yes I did..but what happened to you and all your morals? only 3 days ago you told me this was fraudulent and illegal?” you quiz him as usual which makes him annoyed.

“Listen, I’ll also benefit from this because I have debts of my own..” he lowers the tone of his voice “..I was an addict and I have to pay off the last of the money for my ex dealer. I want you to know what you’re getting into though because if we get married and I don’t pay him, he’ll just hurt you in retaliation okay?”

you nod “alright..so this is happening? we’re getting married for convenience?”

he huffs and reluctantly replies “yes.”

a week later you and Luke go to the registry office to get married. you’re wearing a basic white dress that Luke made you change into to make this all seem real. You both get called in. The ceremony happens and it gets to the kiss.

“You may kiss the bride” the registry lady says waiting for us to kiss to confirm the marriage

Luke pulls himself together and kisses you…later on you’re both in his car, he’s driving you back to your apartment. You’re both in silence.
